Two bombs, weighing 20kg each, were discovered late Wednesday night in an operation by the Israeli Defense Forces in a town near Jenin. In a joint operation of Shin Bet (General Security Services) and the IDF, forces also nabbed four terrorists from the Islamic Jihad terror group.
Defense officials say that terrorists were planning to use the two roadside charges, found in the Samaria town of Kabatiya, in a terrorist attack. While IDF sappers safely detonated the bombs, forces arrested four wanted Islamic Jihad operatives in Kabatiya.
In another IDF operation Wednesday night, three wanted Arabs believed to be terrorists were arrested, two near Shechem in Samaria and one near Bethlehem.
The arrests occurred shortly after the third terrorist in as many days was killed by IDF forces while preparing to attack soldiers with a Molotov cocktail. The terrorist was discovered carrying the firebombs along with two other men near the Arab village of Kafr Malik, northeast of Ramallah, and was shot dead after ignoring warning fire from the Israeli soldiers. IDF forces were unable to capture the other two men.
