The Hebrew University of Jerusalem was ranked 93 in the world this year by the Times Higher Education survey, released last weekend. This means the university has jumped by 35 places since last year.
Social science faculties in the Tel Aviv and Hebrew universities won spots in the top 60.
American higher institutions of learning continued to dominate the latest survey, placing 37 universities in the top 100 and 20 in the top 50.
