Maria of Maine was raised as an evangelical Christian, and at a certain point in her life began feeling the pull of Judaism. She wound up practicing "Orthodox Messianic Judaism" but started growing out of it, and realizing that it is nothing short of Christianity.
In a remarkable conversation with IsraelNationalRadio show host Tovia Singer, Maria took another step toward true Judaism. Tovia Singer begins talking to Maria at the 11:15 minute mark in the show below:

"Thousands of folks are raised to believe they are not Jewish, but have a deep love for Israel," Tovia told Maria. "They are raised to follow the doctrine of the Trinity. Then they discover the Messianic movement. But there is no real difference between that movement and Christianity."
Maria agreed: "You can't reconcile [Judaism and Christianity]. You can't have both." She wound up reciting the Shema incantation.
