Lockheed Martin has been awarded the contract to manufacture the next American combat aircraft, and the Israeli \"smart helmet\" will provide pilots with the vital ability to target an enemy aircraft and launch a missile at it - merely by turning his head towards the target. The weapons systems will be directed to where the pilot is looking, and he will not need to maneuver the aircraft into a special firing position. Lockheed Martin is scheduled to supply the US Air Force with thousands of aircraft six years from now, and the helmet transaction is expected to be enormous.
