In light of the ongoing stalemate following the elections for Labor Party leader two months ago, party secretary Ra\'anan Cohen said today that the disputed results might simply be made null and void. He said that according to the proposal, new elections would be held a year before the next Knesset election, or, in case the election is advanced, on some other practical date. Cohen acknowledged that the ongoing conflict between the candidates, Avraham Burg and Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, is damaging to the party. He himself did not express his opinion of the idea, though both campaign teams have already expressed their opposition.
