The latest edition of Israel's most popular English TV show, Tuesday Night Live in Jerusalem, features a sobering appearance by down-to-earth Nobel Economics Prize winner Prof. Yisrael Aumann.

The professor, formerly of Brooklyn, New York, said simply, "Zionism is in trouble," then qualified it by saying he was referring to "secular Zionism, which doesn't include the element of commitment necessary for it to be transmitted through the generations... If the spirit of G-d is not present in the house of Israel, its builders labor in vain."

Show hosts Jeremy Gimpel and Ari Abromowitz shared, as usual, their unique insights in brief monologues sprinkled with captivating stories. The theme this time: The miracles of the liberation of Jerusalem during the Six Day War, and the threat to the Holy City posed by the ongoing negotiations to divide it.

The popular "Meet the Street" segment featured the taped reactions of passers-by to the question, "What do you love best about Jerusalem?"  One man who had just arrived an hour before said that as of that point, he could say with confidence only that Jerusalem's milkshakes were the best he'd ever had, while others spoke of the sanctity, the ambience, the Western Wall, the people, and the all-out general fun they felt in living in Jerusalem. One even mentioned Tuesday Night Live as his favorite aspect of the Holy City.
