Dozens of Israeli farmers tried to block the delivery of goods into Gaza through the Sufa Crossing Sunday morning.
It was the fourth such rally by Gaza Belt farmers, who contend that Gaza residents should not be allowed to receive fuel and other supplies while terrorists fire rockets and mortar shells without impunity at Israeli civilians just a few kilometers away.
Israel has continued to ship humanitarian aid through the Gaza crossings throughout the month despite continuing mortar shell and rockets attacks.
Approximately a hundred farmers lined up at the Sufa Crossing to stop the delivery trucks from passing through the terminal with their loads of food and other supplies.
The Sufa Crossing is used primarily for the delivery of various food products, such as meat, fish, hatching eggs for chicken production, powdered milk, fruit, sugar, flour, oil, coffee, ketchup, mayonnaise, food preservatives, rice, garlic, peas and other produce. Sometimes non-food essentials such as diapers and paper products are delivered through the Sufa Crossing as well.
