A nationalist grassroots activist has an idea for getting Israel out of its current mire: Get Ariel Sharon and Binyamin Netanyahu together. Tzvika Slonim, the head of Kedumim\'s Midreshet Eretz Yisrael Museum for Gush Emunim and the organizer of at least three popular protests against previous governments, told Arutz-7 today about his new \"last-hope\" initiative:
\"It\'s called Eshnav [window], a [Hebrew] acronym for \'Ariel Sharon Netanyahu Binyamin.\' The idea is that as we know, much blood has been shed - a family of five travels from Karnei Shomron to buy something, and only two return; this can\'t go on! This has nothing to do with politics, but the situation is very grave. My conclusion is that in order to prevent Mr. Peres from strangling Mr. Sharon, we have to get these two people - Sharon and Netanyahu - to stop, as the analysts say, \'breathing down each other\'s political necks,\' and get together. Arik Sharon is currently running the country with confidence, skill, and a measure of serenity that we have not seen in many years. What we have to do now is to get these two guys together, in place of Shimon Peres - his departure doesn\'t have to bring down the government; some of Labor will be glad to remain even without Peres - and have them work together. Netanyahu must be a senior government minister in Arik\'s government. The public has to force this unity upon them, whether by sit-in strike or other means of public expression, as we have done in previous situations. They must stop competing with each other politically, and work together... I am quite aware of all the various political considerations, but right now we have to solve this immediate problem of not being able to travel on the roads... The public has to tell both of them that they must stop with their political infighting, and get together!\"
