Members of Knesset from the United Torah Judaism (UTJ) faction visited the hareidi-religious city of Beitar Illit recently to protest a building freeze in the area.  The government has forbidden new construction in Beitar Illit and other Jewish cities in Judea and Samaria.

The MKs met with Beitar Illit Mayor Meir Rubenstein and discussed ways of fighting the building freeze.  Rubenstein said that if new construction was not approved by Passover, he would move his office to the Knesset and set up a constant protest area there.  Others suggested teaming up with the hareidi-religious Shas party.
