Students in Bar Ilan University held a prayer rally and protest on Wednesday on behalf of kidnapped IDF soldiers Gilad Shalit, Eldad Regev, and Ehud Goldwasser. Organizers said their goal was to bring the subject of the kidnapped soldiers back to the national consciousness.
Shalit, Regev, and Goldwasser were kidnapped over 600 days ago, and their families have not received a sign of life for several months. The government says that all possible efforts are being made to free the soldiers. Noam Shalit, the father of Gilad Shalit, has expressed doubt that the government is truly making every possible effort, and has called on Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to release terrorist prisoners in order to free his son.
