An Israel Air Force combat helicopter rocketed a Hamas police station in Khan Yunis in Gaza on Tuesday afternoon, killing six Hamas policemen. The attack followed a two-pronged Kassam rocket attack on two factories in Sderot earlier in the day; several people were treated for shock.
Great damage was caused to the police station in Khan Yunis, an Arab city in Gaza adjacent to the former site of N'vei Dekalim, Gush Katif's largest Jewish town.
IDF sources explained to Ynet that the police station was targeted not because it was directly involved with the Kassam rocket fire, but rather, "every Hamas site is a possible target, just as are the sites of other terrorist organizations. Our message is clear: As long as Hamas fires at us, we will fire at their assets and at their terrorist operatives."
Palestinian Authority sources report that a Gaza navy outpost was also attacked by an Israel Navy boat, wounding four Hamas men. The targeted site is located in the former Jewish town of Morag, south of Khan Yunis. This report was not confirmed, however.
Two other Hamas terrorists were killed early Tuesday morning in an IDF counter-terrorism operation in southern Gaza.
Farmers Fired Upon
Also Tuesday morning, PA terrorists fired at Jewish farmers of Kibbutz Nir Oz, just east of Khan Yunis and over the border. No one was hurt, but damage was caused to a tractor. This is the third time in recent weeks that Jewish farmers in that area have been fired at by Palestinian terrorists.
In the Shomron early Tuesday afternoon, Arabs threw rocks at an Israeli bus, east of Kalkilye. No one was hurt, but the bus was damaged.
