The American company ASERO Worldwide and the University of Haifa have formed a cooperative agreement to offer a new program in Homeland Security Studies. The program, which begins in March, is designed for government, law enforcement and private security professionals worldwide who deal with international terror.

The course will focus mainly on the Israeli experience in the fight against terror. Security concepts will be discussed, such as adversary methods of operation, and developments by international terrorists, and threats and risks in Homeland Security. Academic experts in homeland security will present the essential tools for setting homeland security policies.

The program will also include visits to sites of terrorist attacks and trips to sensitive security installations in Israel in order to provide firsthand knowledge of the problems, advantages and methods for fighting terrorism.

The University of Haifa houses a number of academic programs of the Israeli defense establishment, including the National Defense College, a course for naval officers, and a program for the Intelligence Corps.
