Sheldon Shorer of the Democratic Party in the United States explains how Democrats living abroad can have an important role in the voting process. "Democrats Abroad," known by the acronym DPCA (Democratic Party Committee Abroad), operates in 70 countries, including Israel, to bring in overseas votes. These votes have become such a significant minority that Democratic candidates try to appeal to the interests of the overseas voters.
