The high alert declared in Jerusalem this morning came to a successful end a few hours later when Israeli agents caught a suicide terrorist on his way to carry out his attack. He and three other terrorists captured with him left from Abu Dis, just east of Jerusalem. He was wearing his explosive pack at the time of capture.

In light of other warnings, however, the alert continues in Jerusalem police stations.

Soldiers were attacked by gunfire during the night near the Shomron community of N\'vei Tzuf, Hevron, and at several locations in Gaza. This morning, an IDF position near Shvut Rachel, in the Shilo region, was similarly attacked. No one was hurt in these attacks.

The Palestinian Authority is not planning on peace any time soon, if the tone in official PA press releases is any indication. The editor of the WAFA agency wrote today that Ariel Sharon is a \"born murderer\" who \"does not bother to cover up his crimes, and uses the most terrible ways to carry them out.\"
