Gush Etzion police destroyed the small Netzer outpost between Alon Shvut and Elazar Thursday, “like thieves in the night,” according to activists who are rebuilding Sunday.

A police force headed by local police commander Moshe Moshe arrived at the site Thursday morning with a D-9 bulldozer and flattened a stone structure that activists had built at the site since they settled it two years ago. "They arrived through a nearby Arab vineyard so nobody could alert activists in time and quickly demolished the structure," an eyewitness told Arutz-7.

The strategic spot is on state-owned lands, and was settled by local youth as part of a campaign during the Chanukah holiday in 2005 to settle 20 new points in Judea and Samaria.

The following day, activists from nearby Efrat, Elazar, Alon Shvut and Neve Daniel took part in rebuilding the site, which had been a gathering place for local youth, who even spent entire Sabbaths and holidays there.

“There are already two temporary structures there, said Devorah Deutch, an activist from Alon Shvut. “When they destroy one house, we have no choice but to build two.”
