Unconfirmed reports from the Gaza front indicate that three soldiers were lightly injured in Al-Bureij on Thursday evening. Two of the wounded men were hit by shrapnel from a PA mortar shell, while a third soldier was lightly wounded in an RPG attack. They were evacuated to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon for treatment.
At least one terrorist wounded in clashes with the IDF was also taken to an Israeli hospital, Be'er Sheva's Soroka Medical Center, for treatment. One PA terrorist was killed while fighting Israeli troops and a 17-year-old was killed earlier in the day when he was hit by an IDF bulldozer. It is unclear at this stage if the teenager was willingly involved in the Gaza violence.
PA attackers in Gaza fired more than a dozen mortar shells at Israeli soldiers and civilians throughout the day Thursday. Nine shells were launched at Israeli towns and IDF positions in the space of one hour in the late afternoon. Two landed near the Kerem Shalom crossing, formerly the main crossing into Gaza, which has been closed due to terrorist threats. Seven shells fell near Jewish communities close to Gaza, including one near Kibbutz Miflasim. In one instance within Gaza, a terrorist cell attempted to launch a mortar attack against soldiers, but the shell landed near Arab houses, missing IDF positions.
Earlier in the day, several journalists arrived in the Al-Bureij area in order to document IDF activities in Gaza. They then came under PA mortar attack alongside IDF forces. No injuries were reported among the journalists, but they were instructed to leave the area following the attack.

In addition to the mortar attacks and clashes in and around central Gaza, at least three Kassam rockets were fired at Sderot by PA terrorists. There were no physical injuries reported in the multiple attacks on the Negev city.
Update on a Wounded Soldier
One of the soldiers injured in a PA rocket attack on the Zikim military base nine days ago remains in serious condition. The young soldier is suffering from head wounds. He is hospitalized in the Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer.
The soldier's family has released his full Hebrew name, Avraham ben Sarah, to allow well-wishers to pray for his recovery according to the traditional Jewish formula.
