Senior Hamas terror chief Mohammed Siam was killed by the IDF during an operation in central Gaza early Thursday morning. A Fatah man was wounded while trying to fire a rocket at the western Negev Wednesday.
Eleven Hamas terrorists, including Siam, were killed and at least four wounded during counter-terrorist operations carried out by the Givati Brigade in central Gaza overnight and on Thursday. The terrorists engaged in gun battles with IDF soldiers operating around the Mouassi, near the former Jewish towns of Gush Katif.
The Israel Air Force carried out a targeted air strike Wednesday, wounding two terrorists spotted in the process of launching a Kassam rocket attack against Israel. According to PA sources, one of the wounded terrorists was a member of Islamic Jihad and the other belonged to Fatah’s Al-Aksa Brigades terrorist group.
Judea and Samaria
IDF soldiers also arrested 13 wanted terrorists overnight in Judea and Samaria. Six were caught in the Hevron area, including three members of Hamas and one from Islamic Jihad.
One Hamas terrorist was caught in Ramallah, and two Islamic Jihad members were nabbed in the Jenin area. No soldiers were injured, but terrorists opened fire on them near Ramallah.
