On Monday, a military court handed down 11 consecutive life sentences, as well as an additional 20 years in prison, for Muhammad Aboudi, charged with playing a central role in a deadly suicide bombing in Tel Aviv on April 17, 2006. Eleven people died as a result of the attack and over 60 were wounded.
In the afternoon of one of the intermediate days of the Passover holiday, a Palestinian Authority suicide bomber blew himself up in front of a well-known and crowded falafel stand on Solomon Street in southern Tel Aviv's Neve Sha'anan neighborhood. The killer, a man from Jenin, detonated the explosives he carried when a security guard requested that he open his bag for inspection. Islamic Jihad claimed to be behind the attack.
A military court convicted Aboudi of trading in illegal weapons, conspiracy to create explosives, intentional homicide and attempted intentional homicide. According to the court's statement at sentencing, the terrorist used his final words to the judges "to take credit for the bitter attack and he took full responsibility for its execution." The judges said that Aboudi had, in fact, played a "central role at the front of the stage" in the N'vei Sha'anan bombing of 2006. 
"This blood will stick to the accused's hands for eternity."
Reminding the court of the suffering inflicted by Aboudi and his collaborators, the judges said, "Standing before us for judgment, therefore, is a murderer whose hands are soaked in much blood, the blood of those killed and wounded in the terrorist attack. The accused will never be able to remove this blood from his hands even if he bathes in purifying water. This blood will stick to the accused's hands for eternity."
Those murdered in the incident were Israelis, tourists and foreign workers. They were: Philip Balhasan, 45, of Ashdod; Rozalia Beseneyi, 48, and Piroşca Boda, 50, foreign workers from Romania; Marcel Cohen, 73, of Nice, France; Ariel Darhi, 31, of Bat Yam; Victor Erez, 60, of Givatayim; Binyamin Haputa, 47, of Lod; David Shaulov, 29, of Holon; Lily Yunes, 43, of Oranit; Lior Anidzar, 26, of Tel Aviv, who died of his wounds on May 13; and Daniel Wultz, 16, of Weston, Florida, in the USA, who died of his wounds on May 14.
