Rocket attacks by Palestinian Authority terrorists continued over the course of Sunday and Monday morning, leading to one moderate to serious injury in the Sderot region.
Arab terrorists launched a Kassam rocket from northern Gaza, hitting a daycare center in the nearby Jewish city of Sderot. No one was hurt, but the building suffered some shrapnel damage.
The attack on the Shaar HaNegev gas station was the fifth rocket attack in one day.
One woman is listed in "moderate to serious" condition, after a Kassam hit the Negev Sunday evening. The rocket landed near the gas station of the Shaar HaNegev industrial zone, adjacent to Sderot. Several people were treated for shock, and fire officials reported extensive property damage as well.
The attack on Shaar HaNegev was the last of five rocket attacks targeting Jewish communities in the western Negev on Sunday. No injuries were reported in the other incidents. The "Color Red" alert regional alarm system that warns residents of incoming artillery from the PA-controlled Gaza was sounded just before the attacks.
Defense Minister Amir Peretz said, "It is incumbent upon us to protect the citizens of the State of Israel, and we will therefore choose the appropriate time to respond."

MK Yitzchak Levy (National Union), a resident of nearby Kfar Maimon, was shocked by the bombing of the Sderot nursery - and ridiculed Peretz's stance. "The Kassams are becoming more and more effective and precise," he said, "and a massive catastrophe is coming nearer... If we don't act in time, we will have to pay a very heavy price - and then another commission of inquiry will have to be established to investigate the mistakes."
Both Fatah and Islamic Jihad terrorist cells claimed responsibility for some of the rocket attacks. Spokesmen for the terror groups claimed the attacks were in response to Israeli counter-terrorism operations. Fatah is headed by PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), who recently met with PA Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, representing the ruling Islamist Hamas terrorist organization.
