The Supreme Court huffily rejected a suit today brought by an extremist left-wing organization that placed hundreds of coffin-like boxes in downtown Tel Aviv this week and began wrapping them in PLO flags. The group - the Bereaved Parents Forum, headed by Yitzchak Frankental - had originally asked for a police permit for \"several cardboard images\" to be placed \"in a corner of Rabin Square.\" Instead, however, the group placed there no less than 900 coffin-like boxes; 200 of them were wrapped in white, to symbolize the Jewish casualties of the current war, and 700 in black, symbolizing the Arabs who died, terrorists and all. Passersby yesterday and the day before reacted with fury to the exhibition, and loud arguments erupted between them and the guards hired by the left-wing extremists.
Yesterday, when the activists began wrapping the 700 \"coffins\" in PLO flags, the police ordered the exhibit removed, reminding the group that their exhibit did not quite correspond with the permit they asked for. The Supreme Court judges, upon receiving the suit, expressed their opinion of the group\'s misleading of the police regarding the exhibition; the group\'s lawyers got the hint, and withdrew their suit. Hon. Michael Heshin concluded the session with the words, \"Speak every man the truth to his neighbor\" (Zechariah 8, 16).
