Prime Minister Sharon will tell Foreign Minister Shimon Peres this evening that after every Peres-Arafat meeting, attacks against Israelis intensify, and that therefore he is against another such meeting. Peres, too, has said that he will not conduct any diplomatic meetings with Arafat when they find themselves together at a European conference this Friday. Arafat has said that he would not turn down an invitation to a meeting with the Israeli Foreign Minister.
Ma\'ariv correspondent Eli Kamir told Arutz-7 today, \"Sharon and Peres meet at least once a week, so tonight\'s talk between them is not anything extraordinary... Peres is not going to really ask to meet with Arafat, because he knows there is no chance that Sharon will allow it... It could be that Peres and Arafat will meet in the hallway at this conference, or something like that, but there will be no negotiations.\"
