In another indication of Israel's booming economy, the Angel group and private investors have bought the Pitman school compound in the center of Tel Aviv for $10.5 million. The developers intend on building only 12-14 apartments on the site - each of which will be in the 250-500 sq m range. The compound will be one of the most luxurious and exclusive in Tel Aviv.
The school is located on a 1.8 dunam (0.45 acre) plot at the corner of Balfour and Ahad Ha'am Streets. The site includes the school itself, which was built in the 1920s and designated for historical preservation, as well as another building which will be removed.
The site was bought in 2004 by the Sutra company.
