At the other end of the national-unity government, Foreign Minister Shimon Peres says that Israel must fulfill its previous obligations and must carry out the third withdrawal from Judea and Samaria to which the Netanyahu government agreed. At the time, then-Prime Minister Netanyahu said that the withdrawal would be from no more than 1% of Judea and Samaria. Peres says, however, that he knows of no intention by Sharon to dismantle Israeli communities in Gaza for an interim agreement. He added, in agreement with Barak, Clinton, Bush, and Sharon, that the Israeli offers to Arafat by the previous government are no longer in force, as the Palestinians rejected them.
