Contrary to what was reported Sunday, Voice of Israel broadcaster Gabi Gazit did not cut off a commercial for the Efrat women's choice organization. He merely negated it, Efrat claims - and plans to file a police complaint against him.
The commercial, airing on Gazit's popular "It's All Talk" morning show, ran to its full length, ending with the words, "Visit our internet site." At that point, a click was heard, and Gazit said, "An abortion is not a game, and abortion matters are not broadcast in commercial breaks, that's what I think. With all due respect to the Efrat organization, not in this way."
Gazit himself emphatically said today that he did not cut off any commercial, but also added, "I did not harm any commercial." Efrat does not agree.
Efrat head Dr. Eli Shussheim told Arutz-7, "I did not claim that he interrupted our commercial, but I did say that he harmed our message. Can you imagine if there would be a commercial for an insurance company, and then Gazit would get on and say that it was false or wrong?"
Efrat's goal is to provide relevant information to women considering abortion, enabling them to make their decision free of pro-abortion societal and establishment pressures. Some 98% of abortion requests - well over 20,000 each year - are approved by the relevant legal council; in addition, at least that number of abortions are carried out illegally.
Efrat maintains that most abortions are carried out by mothers undergoing temporary difficulties who are not fully aware of the future ramifications, including on their own health.
Efrat also provides financial help to mothers who are motivated to abort because of economic difficulties.
