Following yesterday\'s Arab shooting from the Abu Sneineh hills at Jewish targets down below, after which the army - contrary to previous promises by Prime Minister Sharon - did not re-take the hills, Jewish residents went up themselves to do the job. They took over an abandoned house this morning that they named Beit Rehavam, after their long-time supporter and friend, the assassinated Minister Rehavam Ze\'evi. However, army and police forces evacuated them from the site shortly afterwards. The police detained Yitzchak Pass - an ironic twist, since it was his ten-month-old daughter Shalhevet who was murdered by a sniper\'s bullet to her head from Abu Sneineh seven months ago today.



Hevron leaders issued a statement decrying the government’s failure to keep its word and deploy IDF forces on the hills, which they have renamed Givat Shalhevet, following yesterday\'s attack.
