The Planning and Construction committee of the Jerusalem municipality approved today another 2,800 apartment units in Har Homa, in southern Jerusalem. Committee members emphasized the strategic importance of the site, as a continuation of a Jewish presence along Jerusalem\'s southern border. They also emphasized the need to provide housing solutions for young couples in the nation\'s capital. Several years ago, the Har Homa project began with approval for an initial 2,400 apartments. 635 apartments have been sold, and by the summer, the entire 2,400 apartments of the first stage are expected to be completed.
