Former Police Commissioner Yehuda Wilk testified today before the Ohr Commission, which is investigating the deaths of 13 Israeli-Arabs during violent riots last October. Wilk, who will testify tomorrow as well, said that the main lesson learned from last year\'s riots is that it is possible to overcome Israel\'s rule of law with the use of violence. \"Today, as well, the message being broadcast by an Arab minority is that violence can help them make gains.\" He said that most of the Israeli-Arab public is peace-loving, but on the margins are terrorist elements. Wilk also had criticism of then-Police Minister Shlomo Ben-Ami, saying that he preferred to tend his other duties as Foreign Minister and that he ignored warnings of threats from the Israeli branch of the Islamic Movement.
