The murder of Kibbutz Manara\'s security officer, Yitzchak Kvartach, may also have been a terrorist attack, according to some GSS suspicions. Kvartach, a 55-year-old bachelor living on the kibbutz located on the Lebanese border, told his friends last week that he was leaving for several days. However, it was discovered last night that he never reached his destination - and that the weapons armory in the kibbutz had been broken into and emptied of dozens of weapons and much ammunition. After a wide-spread search, Kvartach\'s body, which showed signs of violence, was found this afternoon a few hundred meters from the Kibbutz. He was last seen on Thursday afternoon.

It was originally announced that the police had no clue regarding the murder, except that it was unlikely that terrorists had crossed the nearby Lebanese border to commit the crime. Only a couple of hours later, however, it was publicized that the GSS suspected that terrorists had arrived from within Israel, abducted Kvartach, forced him to open the armory, and then killed him. Israel Police and General Security Service agents are continuing the investigation.
