Lior Kaufman, 30, who was murdered by Palestinian terrorists in the Judean desert east of Jerusalem last night, was buried in Rishon LeTzion this afternoon. He and six friends were on a jeep tour when gunfire rang out from an overlooking Arab village. The Israelis ran for cover, but three were hit when the shots followed them. The two others are in serious and moderate condition, respectively. Kaufman lived in Ramat HaSharon, hometown of the late Minister Rehavam Ze\'evi.

Many other Arab attacks also occurred in Yesha areas last night. In northwestern Shomron, an Israeli motorist was shot in a leg by terrorist gunfire near Karnei Shomron, and other shooting attacks without injuries were recorded elsewhere. In Jerusalem, the police station between the Armon HaNetziv and Jabel Mukaber neighborhoods was attacked by gunfire. There were no injuries, but police and border police units returned fire and pursued the attackers, who managed to evade police.

For soldiers in Gaza, it was another night of warfare. Arabs directed gunfire, fragmentation grenades and anti-tank grenades at Israeli positions in southern Gaza and Gush Katif. A mortar attack hit the southern Gaza community of Morag. Shortly after 6 AM this morning, a very powerful bomb was detonated in the Gush Katif area near the border fence. There were no injuries in any of the attacks.
