Ze\'evi\'s successor as the Moledet party\'s Knesset faction leader, Rabbi Benny Elon, spoke at the cemetery as well, but was preceded by Ze\'evi\'s eldest son Yiftach Palmach, who delivered the following powerful talk:

\"Abba, you are surrounded now by many friends, and I know that you have a much more common language with them than with those you left behind. The problem is that those you left behind to be the do-ers, we know how much they are mistaken.

\"You did not merit, beloved son of this land, to be accepted when you were alive. Ever since you turned to politics, they shunted you outside of the consensus, and even during the times of Bibi [Netanyahu] and Arik [Sharon] you were left on the side. There in the sky, where you are now beginning to get organized, where David Ben-Gurion and all the others after him, maybe even Yitzchak [Rabin] too, are making a bed ready for you - there you are certainly receiving the recognition of which you are so deserving.

\"It cannot be taken from you: Your brilliant analyses that only a mind like yours could have figured out, or the responsibility that you took upon yourself to be loyal to Eretz Yisrael, even when everyone blared in your ear that a \'New Middle East is shining,\' [and your devotion to] the Hebrew language that so few know how to play [its music] as you do, an exemplary husband and father.

\"They laughed at you that you are old-fashioned, set in your ways, and that you refuse to join this foolish celebration of \'the end of the conflict.\' \"You are hallucinating!\", you answered them. And the worst of all, you always made sure to tell me, was the thought that every mistake that is made now will be very hard to fix, because after all we don\'t have another state waiting in store [lit., the rifle magazine].

\"You who were so talented, you could have taken any public position you wanted and carried it out in the best way possible. But you were not willing to pay the payment [lit., prostitute\'s fee], and you were therefore left out of the group of do-ers. So, too, during the past week. My special man, you did not agree to keep the Volvo [the car provided for government ministers] in exchange for your [ideals]. Your loyalty to Eretz Yisrael and to those who live in Judea and Samaria, and your desire to bring about the desired shock, overcame the desire for power. And this was appropriate for you, beloved son of the Land. I admired you yet again this week, my General.

\"I want to ask forgiveness, in my name… and in the name of Benny, Matzadah, Tse\'elah, and Aravah, for all the impatience we showed for tens of years about the fact that the State and the attention you paid it, came before us and Imma [Mom]. But that which you bequeathed us still flows in our genes, and no one will take it from us.

\"And I hope that from one of the branches you left, 20 in number, will arise someone who can continue your way: Maybe it will be Matzadah\'s Sayar, or our Gilad Rehavam, or maybe even Benny\'s Nachman.

\"And to you [plural], you who murdered my father, you temporary residents [of] Canaan, I am telling you that we are staying here, because this is ours!

\"Abba is now close to G-d, and there, according to tradition, he has many points in his favor. From there, it will be easier for him to act.

\"And to you, Arik, a friend who was so close at the beginning of the way: Take revenge, the way that Gandhi would have done after you [had this happened to you], and go back to leading the country the way we knew you.

\"We merited in the Ze\'evi family to have a giant leader. Imma, you accompanied him everywhere - you stopped five times only to give birth and then you quickly caught up to him. We will overcome this mourning. And if the price that we paid is that which returns the country\'s leaders to the right path, then we have merited, and we will pay it like big boys.

\"And you, Benny Elon, and Yvette [Avigdor Lieberman], and dear residents of Yesha, members of Moledet, National Union-Yisrael Beiteinu, and the rest of Israel: We are burying Gandhi today, but he asked me to charge you to be strong and continue to be loyal to the path.\"
