Among the 15 casualties were 24 year old First-Sergeant Binyamin Sela from Koranit, 25 year old Sergeant First Class (res.) Elad Dan of Kibbutz Ayalot and 26 year old Sergeant First Class Gilad Zissman from the Binyamin region community of Eli. Zissman is the third soldier from Eli killed in Lebanon in the past two weeks.
Major Natan Yahav, 36 from Kiryat Ono was killed while operating in the village of Dibel. Also killed in the battle for Dibel were Sergeant Major (res.) Asher Reuven Novik of Kanaf, 22 year old First Sergeant Adi Salim of Beit Hashmonai, Sergeant First Class (res.) Naor Kalan of Maagan Michael and 28 year old Sergeant First Class Nimrod Segev of Ramat Gan. All were killed by anti-tank missiles while operating near the village of Debil.
Captain Stukleman of Moshav Tamrat in the Jeezriel Valley, 22 year old First Sergeant Major Nir Cohen of Maccabim Re’ut and Sergeant Major Igor Koblik of Nazareth Illit were killed in Ayta al-Sha’ab when an anti-tank missile hit their tank.
Other soldiers killed in various battles in southern Lebanon were 27 year old Noam Goldman of Tel Aviv, 30 year old Captain Lion Smukher of Beit Nahmi and 25 year old Sergeant Major David Shmidov of Jerusalem.
Four reservists who were members of an armored brigade were killed by anti-tank missiles. An infantry soldier was killed by a mortar in the village of Marjayoun.
Nine reserve paratroopers were among the fallen, and 11 paratroopers were wounded when terrorists fired anti-tank missiles at a house in Debil in which they were operating.
