The traditional \'Hakafot Shniyot\' - joyous post-Simchat Torah celebrations of the Torah, held in solidarity with Jews in the Diaspora where the Simchat Torah holiday is celebrated a day later than in Israel - were celebrated in many locations throughout Israel last night. In addition to city centers and local synagogues, public Hakafot Shniyot were celebrated by many hundreds of people in the northern Gaza community of Elei Sinai and the Assaf Junction between Beit El and Ofrah. Minister of Public Security Uzi Landau and Rabbi Moti Elon took part in the Elei Sinai celebrations; terrorists infiltrated the community last week, murdering two people and wounding close to twenty.
