Four Moslem suicide terrorist attacks in Israel have been thwarted in recent days - including one scheduled to take place in a central-Israel city in the coming days.

It was released for publication Sunday night that earlier in the day, the security forces arrested a suicide terrorist and his accomplice who were preparing an attack in central Israel.

An intelligence warning was received early Sunday regarding a terrorist about to leave Samaria (Shomron) and enter the Sharon area for the purpose of carrying out a suicide attack. The police were thereupon placed on high alert throughout the region, installing checkpoints at various places checking all Samaria-Sharon traffic.

At the same time, an IDF force began operating in the Shomron to apprehend the would-be murderer, and soon captured him and accomplice in an Arab taxi near the Jewish Yesha community of Shavei Shomron. The explosive belt in his possession - containing four kilograms of explosives and bolts in six separate pockets - was neutralized by police sappers.

In the past two weeks, the Jerusalem Police caught a suicide terrorist in downtown Jerusalem, the Sharon Region Police prevented an attack in Hod HaSharon, and the Tel Aviv Police arrested a female terrorist in the promenade area.

This morning (Monday), a Kassam rocket fired by Hamas Authority terrorists in Gaza landed in a communal dining room in a Western Negev kibbutz; no one was hurt. Later this afternoon, four Kassam rockets were fired at the same general area, causing no casualties. The IDF fired a shell at a terrorist target in Beit Hanoun, Gaza, killing one and injuring several.
