The Russian committee investigating the downing of the Siber airliner this past Thursday has yet to reach any final conclusions. Investigators say that amidst the wreckage of the crashed Russian plane, they have identified parts similar to missile components.

Ukraine denies being responsible for bringing down the aircraft, but its military has admitted launching an S200 anti-aircraft missile at about the time the Russian airliner exploded in mid-air. Ukraine says that its missile exploded into the sea two minutes before the airliner crashed and 125 miles away. Other possible causes for the tragedy not yet ruled out are a bomb or a mechanical failure.

The ministerial committee in Israel which deals with government ceremonies has declared this Thursday a national day of memorial for the over 50 Israeli victims of Siber Airline flight.
