A total of 20 civilians have been killed since the beginning of the current warfare, including two who suffered fatal heart attacks as a result of the rockets. In addition, over 1,200 people have been injured - among them 46 who are still hospitalized.
Today (Thursday), as of 6 PM, some 84 Hizbullah-fired Katyusha rockets struck cities all over the north, including Tzfat (causing a forest fire there), Pekiin, Maalot, Hatzor, Shlomi, and many others. In Kiryat Shmonah, a rocket slammed into a laundry detergent plant, setting a warehouse on fire. No one was in the building at the time, but a fireman was lightly hurt battling the fire. In Carmiel, 16 people were treated for shock when three houses were hit. Eight rockets hit Tiberias. Air-raid sirens sounded in the north throughout the day.
A total of 151 Katyushas hit Israel yesterday, wounding 58 people, including one in serious condition and four listed in "moderate" condition.
In Gaza, Hamas terrorists continue to fire Kassam rockets at Sderot and other western Negev areas. Two were fired last night, resulting in light injuries to one person, and another three were fired today.
Operation Samson's Pillars
The IDF anti-terror operation in Gaza, named Operation Samson's Pillars continues as well. Some 15 terrorists were killed Wednesday, and another 15 were killed or wounded Thursday.
The Kassam-bombarded city of Sderot was affected by the fighting in Lebanon as well: Four of the lightly wounded soldiers in yesterday's battle in Bint Jbeil are students of the Hesder Yeshiva in Sderot.
