IDF soldiers from the infantry and armored divisions entered the terrorist stronghold, seizing several houses and imposing a closure on the town.

"We have taken several prisoners in this battle. The enemy has sustained more than a few casualties, and overall we are now preparing to take over the entire town," he added.

Four IDF soldiers were wounded in a separate firefight with Hizbullah terrorists in south Lebanon. They were evacuated to Nahariya Hospital.

While IDF troops were operating on the ground, Israel Air Force fighter pilots were flying sorties over south Lebanon from the early morning, knocking out Katyusha launch sites and other terrorist targets.

By mid-morning, some 15 rocket launch sites were eliminated. IAF pilots also bombed six weapons warehouses throughout Lebanon and 18 buildings housing Hizbullah terrorists in Tyre.
