Two rockets were fired from Beit Lahiya at Ashkelon, with one landing close to a strategic facility in the fifth-largest city. The second landed in an open area. No injuries or damage was reported.
Two Kassams landed in the city of Sderot, which has absorbed hundreds of rockets in the past year alone. One rocket fell near the entrance to the city. The other landed in the Rabin neighborhood. There, too, no one was hurt and no damage was reported.
Later in the day, another rocket fell in the area of Kibbutz Zikkim. No injuries or damage reported.
Meanwhile, Hamas chairman and Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh appealed to the United States to intervene and put and end to Israel’s incursion into Gaza. Haniyeh made his remarks during an interview with The Associated Press, calling on the U.S. “to restrain the Israeli aggression and stop it.”
Haniyeh added, “All that we ask of the American administration is to take a moral stance toward the Palestinian people, and the Palestinian suffering and to bear its responsibility as a superpower in this world.”
