Senior Israeli veterinary officials say that the PA reports 13 cases of foot-and-mouth disease among cattle. Despite the reports from the PA, Israeli officials have yet to receive a formal comprehensive report of the status of the disease within the PA. Israeli health officials reminded Israelis that the disease only impacts animals, and cannot be transmitted to humans. Nevertheless, as seen in Europe, the results can reach devastating proportions if livestock are infected.
