Checkpoints and roadblocks were quickly erected, police were deployed in large numbers, and traffic was held up in many areas in western Shomron. Arab taxis were isolated, and in the Barkan Industrial Zone, the forces closed in on a number of vehicles, until the terrorists were found, neutralized and arrested. The would-be mass-murderers were then taken into custody of the General Security Service.
