The accurate missile strike occurred around noon on Tuesday, when Israeli intelligence alerted an Israel Air Force helicopter crew to the presence of a car driving in Gaza. Three terrorists were making their way along a northern Gaza street in Beit Lahiye to fire Kassam rockets, of the new "Grad" model, towards Israel. The helicopter fired missiles at the car, killing all three terrorists inside.

An IDF spokesman told Arutz-7 that the army was not connected with other explosions or attacks claimed today by the PA.

"Palestinian terrorists have fired 38 rockets at Israel from the northern Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours," the IDF declared shortly after the noontime attack. The total since Friday was over 100. One man is still in serious condition in Ashkelon's Barzilai Hospital as a result of the attacks, several people were treated for shock, and several buildings in and around Sderot were damaged.

Haaretz newspaper's sub-headline on this news item read, "The attacks occurred after a relatively quiet night, in which only six Kassams were fired, and none of them landed inside Israel." The text was later changed to read, "The attack - after a relatively quiet night, in which individual rockets were fired, all of which fell in the [Gaza] Strip."

An IDF statement read, "The Palestinian Authority is fully responsible for any attacks emanating from the Gaza Strip. Unfortunately, [the PA] continues to take no action in order to prevent the daily attacks against Israeli civilians."

Shortly before 3:30 PM, Al-Aksa Brigades terrorists of the Fatah movement fired at an Israeli guard near Atarot, north of Jerusalem. His condition is reported as "moderate."
