The return of the campaign-funding scandal was announced today - but this time it was the Likud on the wrong side of the law. Justice Ministry officials say that in the light of the findings by State Comptroller Eliezer Goldberg, a criminal investigation could be opened against Prime Minister Sharon and/or his son. Goldberg found that funds were funneled to the Sharon and Likud campaigns via fictitious or illegal associations. The Labor party was similarly incriminated; Likud was fined 600,000 shekels, and Labor - 1.3 million.
