Widespread terrorist attacks accompanied the Sabbath throughout Israel, including areas in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. Security officials on Saturday night reported that over the Sabbath there were 54 attacks.



Mortar shells were launched against Gaza communities three times on Friday night and for the first time, against a community in Judea. A mortar shell landed near the Gush Etzion community of Tekoa around noon yesterday. One child was treated for shock in Gaza following one of the attacks. There were no injuries in the other mortar attacks.



There were attacks involving grenades, automatic gunfire, firebombs and rocks. Eleven Israelis were wounded in the violence that included attacks throughout Gaza, Hevron, Shomron areas and inside the capital.



Burning tires were rolled onto the French Hill – Maale Adumim road and firebombs were thrown at security forces in the northern capital near Shuafat. Trashcans were set ablaze in the A-Tor area of Jerusalem and security forces were attacked with rocks.



Shooting was reported throughout the morning in Hevron, with two soldiers sustaining light wounds near Beit Hadassah.
