The Knesset Interior Committee conducted a stormy session on the matter of Attorney-General Elyakim Rubenstein\'s request to withdraw the parliamentary immunity of Arab MK Azmi Bishara this morning. Rubenstein wishes to indict him on charges of making anti-Israel remarks and in support of Hizbullah during a visit to Syria. \"MK Bishara forced us to indict him,\" Rubenstein told the Committee, \"by stretching to the limit our tolerance and freedom of speech. [Not indicting him would have meant] giving a feeling that everything is permitted, that there is neither justice nor judge, and that one can praise - both in Israel and in the heart of an enemy country, in the presence of our greatest enemy leaders - our most extreme enemies, Hizbullah, which wants nothing less than to totally destroy us... This has nothing to do with freedom of speech...\" Arutz-7\'s Haggai Seri reports that a final decision will be made next week.
