The Kassam rocket was fired from northern Gaza, and landed in an open area south of Ashkelon. No one was hurt, and no damage was reported. The IDF fired 250 shells over the weekend in retaliation for similar attacks, injuring seven Arabs. The army announced that it has no intention of hitting civilians, but emphasized that Israel will not ignore Kassam rocket attacks.



Many of the Kassam attacks are launched from areas in northern Gaza evacuated by Israel last summer during the Disengagement.



Three anti-IDF bombs were discovered and safely neutralized in Shomron areas this morning - two near Elon Moreh, and one south of Shechem.



South of Hevron this morning, IDF soldiers manning a checkpoint found a stash of 40 knives and 20 pairs of binoculars hidden in an Arab taxi. The weapons were confiscated, and the occupants of the car were held for interrogation. Nearby and around the same time, an Arab youth arrived at a checkpoint, and was found to be carrying a 30-centimter (12-inch) long knife. He is now being questioned by the security forces.



Also in Hevron today, an explosive device was hurled at an IDF force, causing no casualties or damage. IDF forces gave chase.
