(Monday, Sept. 24- 07:25am standard time) A female motorist traveling on Route 90, the main Jordan Valley road, was shot and killed in an early morning drive-by terrorist shooting attack.
The motorist was hit by gunfire near the Jewish community of Shadmot Mechola, about 1.5 kilometers (9/10 mile) from the IDF checkpoint in the area.
The female was gravely wounded in the attack. Emergency medical service personnel began cardio pulmonary resuscitation and other life-saving measures but were unsuccessful. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
An eyewitness told authorities that terrorists were traveling southbound and opened fire from a commercial vehicle. IDF officers believe the fleeing terrorists made their way to nearby PA-controlled Jericho. A manhunt is underway for the murderers at this time.
On Sept. 9th of this year, terrorists on Route 90, near the Adam Bridge Crossing, opened fire at a van transporting teachers to area schools. The driver of the van and a teacher were killed and three other teachers were wounded by the gunfire.
