A Palestinian Authority (PA) resident is in custody following a scuffle with soldiers near Bidan, between Shechem and the Jordan Valley. The young male aroused the suspicion of soldiers. They called on him to stop and identify himself, at which time he assaulted the soldier, leading to a scuffle. He tried to grab a knife that the soldier was carrying, but was restrained. No injuries were reported
Troops entered Gaza openly Friday for the second time in two days to sweep the PA-controlled side of the security fence for roadside bombs.
A Hamas rally scheduled to take place in a soccer stadium in the eastern Jerusalem suburb of Sur Bahir was blocked by a police order Saturday. The stadium was closed to prevent the rally from taking place this week as scheduled.
