Over 100 artillery shells were fired during the course of the day in joint IDF, IAF and Israeli naval activity.
No injuries were reported from the four Kassam rockets that were fired today toward the western Nege. One of the rockets landed in the sea and three exploded in open areas. In addition, two Kassam rockets were fired into Israel overnight on Friday night.
Saturday’s shelling activity was carried out by Israeli armed forces working cooperatively with the IAF and the Israeli Navy following continued Kassam attacks and a Katyusha rocket that landed south of Ashkelon on Tuesday. The IAF shelled a building in northern Gaza that served as a Kassam launch site and provided cover for terrorists. In addition, IDF artillery and Israeli navy ships fired at open areas and access routes to Kassam launch sites in Gaza City.
The IDF reportedly distributed pamphlets urging the Palestinian population to fight terrorism, while warning that Israel’s military's response would only intensify if Kassam rocket fire into Israel continued. "How long will you let terrorists control your lives?" the pamphlets demanded.
