Pro-Palestinian activists replaced the German flag flying outside the Reichstag, the German parliament building, with a Palestinian flag overnight.
Footage released from the scene shows Berlin firefighters working to remove the flag several hours after it was raised.
The incident occurred one day before the 88th anniversary of Kristallnacht, the Nazi pogrom against Jews in Germany on November 9-10, 1938.
