    Earthquake strikes Philippines, tsunami warning issued for US, Indonesian coasts

    A powerful 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck the island of Mindanao in the Philippines at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers, triggering a subsequent 6.3-magnitude aftershock.

    Following the quake, a tsunami warning was issued for the coasts of Indonesia, the Philippines, and other regions in the Pacific Ocean. This included warnings of extreme sea-level fluctuations for U.S. territories, including Guam and Saipan.
