Sergeant Rotem Yanai, aged 20, from Giv'at Ada, a service conditions NCO soldier in the 435th Battalion, Givati Brigade, fell during operational activity in northern Israel.
In the same incident in which Sergeant Rotem Yanai fell, one reserve soldier was severely injured, and another reserve soldier was moderately injured.
The soldiers were evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment, and their families have been notified.
